I have been working in mental health for 11 years, and I have been working with trans* clients for all 11 years.

If there have been cases in which you have determined that a client does not meet eligibility requirements  for hormone therapy or gender surgery,  what are the criteria under which you have denied a request for a letter ( or cases in which you anticipate that you would deny a request for a letter)?
I denied a letter once for a client who stated they wanted the letter but then changed their mind and then changed their mind again. I require that the client understand and be committed to the process. If they aren’t committed, they would need further sessions with me.

Does a coexisting mental condition preclude providing the client with a letter?

I have had safespace training, and training throughout my education and practice process. I also have personal experience with trans* individuals. I am married to a transman, and my son-in-law is a transman.

If you have any concerns about the level of intake staff that could create an uncomfortable situation for Trans clients, is there someone the patient can contact to assist?
I don’t have intake staff currently it is just me, but if I did, they could certainly address it with me.
